As I work on my YouTube channel, I have the pleasure of collaborating with various talented video creators. While each creator brings their unique style to the table, it’s crucial for me to maintain a consistent visual and thematic style across all videos on my channel. To achieve this, I’ve established specific guidelines and requirements that ensure a cohesive "channel style," even when videos are produced by different creators.
The information on this page outlines these guidelines and requirements, offering insights into how we can effectively collaborate to create videos that align with the channel’s vision.
I will provide you with a special copyright text stating that the video is recorded exclusively for me and that I have full rights to use it as I wish.
This text must be displayed on a phone screen or paper each time you start recording. If you need to stop recording for any reason, that's fine, but you must display the copyright text again when you resume.
The copyright text can be found here. This is important, and I will not accept any video that does not include the copyright text.
I edit the videos myself, so I ask that you deliver the raw files exactly as they were recorded. Some creators do initial editing to reduce file size, but I prefer to handle that to avoid any impact on quality.
I expect the video to be recorded in 4K 60fps unless another format has been discussed in advance.
I don't ask creators to provide commentary during the video and prefer that they remain silent. However, if someone asks you something directly and you want to respond, that’s fine. Just try to keep conversations to a minimum.
From local creators, I usually ask for advice about interesting places to record. For walking tours, I generally request a 60-70 minute video, but this will also be discussed individually for each video.
It’s a safe way for both sides to handle transactions and ensure the service is delivered. I’ve successfully collaborated with creators on both of these platforms (Upwork, Fiverr).
After receiving the video, I review it and prepare a document like this one. In this document, I may ask you to provide additional information about the video. I might also include screenshots if I need clarification on something.
For example, in the document I provided earlier, I asked about dishes and prices. Filling it out shouldn’t take too long, but it’s very helpful for me as I use the information to add subtitles.
As a video creator, it’s important to enhance the viewer's experience by offering clear navigation through our content. If the video includes distinct segments, topics, or key moments that would benefit from easy access, please provide timestamps.
Use them when they make sense for the video, such as when covering multiple topics, showcasing different locations, or highlighting significant events. This helps create a more organized and user-friendly experience for the audience.
The timestamps can be provided as part of this document.
Example of Timestamps:
00:00 Main Street
09:34 Grand Bazaar
22:15 Spice Neighborhood
Please don't decline the opportunity to collaborate just because you disagree with some of the points I mentioned above. Everything can be discussed to find a compromise.
Also, if you need additional clarification, have any questions, or would like to discuss the requirements I mentioned, feel free to reach out to me.
